Evidence rooms should be equipped with an approved
intrusion detection system (IDS).
The IDS is connected to a central monitoring
station. There are personnel on duty who can provide armed response to the alarm
signal.
The decision whether to install an IDS is based on a thorough risk
assessment which considers--

The quantity and types of evidence being stored.
o
The relative cost of compensatory measures necessary to provide security
equivalent to an IDS.
Field elements will coordinate with their supply
support activity. They will also coordinate with the facilities engineer for
acquisition and installation of an approved IDS.
