As an exception to the foregoing, prisoners with funds in excess of their anticipated needs may,
with approval of the appropriate commander, withdraw such excess funds for investment in US
savings bonds and in personal savings accounts in specified banks.
SUMMARY
The prompt payment of those prisoners who are entitled to receive pay contributes to high
prisoner morale. The prisoner's sentence determines if and how much he is paid. The
procedures for handling a prisoner's personal property fund and health and comfort supplies; and
for properly crediting the prisoner's account; maintaining a petty cash fund; and utilizing the
prisoner personal deposit fund forms will contribute to the prisoner's transition to the new
environment, making the facility a more stable environment for both cadre and prisoners.
