Equipment.
The following equipment can be life saving to search teams:
o Common tool set consisting of pliers, crescent wrench, and both phillips and straight
screwdrivers. These tools should only be used to gain access to areas to which the bomber
may have access.
o A flashlight, preferably with a light bending adaptor to allow searchers to look into small
openings.
o Hand mirror to use in conjunction with the flashlight to observe under and behind items.
o Body armor, such as flak vest.
o Plastic ribbon, string, or crepe paper for marking searched areas.
