a. Establish/supervise a roadblock.
(1) The location must offer cover and concealment for the team operating the roadblock.
(2) If the mission is to close off a road, oncoming traffic should see the roadblock in advance in
order to turn off. If the mission is to check for infiltrators, the roadblock should be hidden if used with a
checkpoint. This will prevent or reduce the chance for vehicles to take action to evade the area. Place
the roadblock on a curve just over a hill. Block the shoulder of the roadway for security.
(3) Defensive positions are assigned and prepared for each team member.
Outposts are
placed up and down the road for security.
(4) A holding area is established for searching vehicles.
b. Tactical set up: When operation is by a single team, one team member stops traffic and directs
vehicles. The other team member provides security for the team. The team vehicle is parked in a
concealed location near the team leader. The team leader provides additional security and
